Elementary Students for Democracy. How Inspiring

A group of elementary students from Ecole Franco-Nord in Prince George, marched against Stephen Harper's removing 'Canada' from official government communications, and exchanging it with 'Harper'.

Kudos to their teacher and kudos to them, for reminding us how important our democracy is.

There is not enough civic education in schools, and these children are learning at a young age how important it is to preserve our democratic principles.

The Government of Canada belongs to us. It does not belong to Stephen Harper. This will send a clear message, not only to the government of the day, but to any in the future, who might attempt something like this.

These students will grow up to be responsible citizens. My hats off to them.
