Eisenhower warned against the industrial-military complex and yet our government seems determined to break the bank buying military toys.
The F-35s, deemed all wrong for Canada, are now estimated to cost about $30 billion dollars. That's almost $1,000 for every man, woman and child in Canada at a time when our healthcare is on life support and poverty on the rise.
Is this an appropriate use of our tax dollars?
We have also learned that our military spending is the highest since the second world war, and Canada, the country that created the Peacekeepers, now ranks 60th for our contribution to this important initiative.
Time to pull the plug on this government. We can no longer afford them.
