Stephen Harper is Undermining Our Position With the United Nations

Canada has been involved with the United Nations since it was founded in 1945, and played a key roll in drafting the UN Charter.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, was created by Canadian John Humphrey, and Canada has always enjoyed a place of honour within this important group.

But Stephen Harper is not really a fan of the UN. Some of that comes from the religious right organizations that prop him up, who often see the UN as an impediment to 'God's foreign policy'.

In the video below, you will hear him tell this room that he does does not go to the UN to determine Canada's foreign policy but uses a disciplined approach focusing on human rights and the rule of law. ...... have you stopped laughing yet?

OK.

I'm doing something a little different with my blog, trying to organize archives, etc. so I'm using this page to link my stories Harper and his contempt for the United Nations. He might praise them publicly, but privately has no respect.

Feel free to use anything.

We've got to start preparing ourselves for the next election, by reminding Canadians that Stephen Harper is not the only problem this party has. They are the wrong fit for Canada and really must be put out to pasture, before they completely destroy this country.
