Harper Team Losing One of the Only Good Guys in the Party

It must have come as a bit of a shock, that one of the few Progressive Conservatives in the Party has handed in his resignation.

Greg Thompson was one of the good guys, and he can't be happy with what Harper is doing now.

Of course I suppose the Reformers will try to generate a bit of excitement with the possibility of a cabinet shuffle. But does anyone really care if he rearranges his potted plants? It's not like they actually do anything. They're not even allowed to speak.

Resignation of Veterans Affairs minister set to trigger Cabinet shuffle

ST. STEPHEN, N.B. -- Saying he wanted to leave on his own terms, longtime member of Parliament and Veterans Affairs Minister Greg Thompson announced Saturday he is resigning from Cabinet, effective immediately. Mr. Thompson will remain as the representative for New Brunswick Southwest until the next federal election, at which time he will not re-offer.

The surprise resignation will trigger a small cabinet shuffle within the next few days, confirming reports that had been circulating in Ottawa of a "tweaking" of the Harper cabinet. ...
