As with everything else, the Harperites have decided to make this political, revealing that the Liberals had previously approached Fantino about running for them.Fantino was chief during the G8 and G20 summits and was in charge of the $56 million that was spent by the police force on security. Despite pressure from opposing parties, Fantino has yet to explain why and to itemize how this money was spent. The OPP spending alone is twice the amount that all security cost for the G20 Summit in South Korea earlier in November.
The OPP released some details of the $56 million after a Commons operations and estimates committee ordered them to on Nov. 24, but that information still left $8.4
million unexplained.
What does that have to do with more than 8 million dollars of our money that is missing?
A word from John Baird and up comes the rug.
This was a tight race and with a voter turnout of about 30%, Fantino is not the man of the hour. Had voters known about the missing 8 million, would they have still voted for him? It's a legitimate question.
It gave the neocons their first Toronto seat, but let's hope he's thrown out in a general election. Too many secrets.
But congrats to the Liberals for taking Winnipeg North.
