In response to the realization that the Harper government is so far removed from Canada's historical Tories, a former staffer, Sandy White, has written an opinion piece for the Globe and Mail: Waiting Out the Harper Experiment.
As a Red Tory she suggests that they are making a comeback.
Will they arrive in a flying saucer with Elvis Presley and Marilyn Munroe?
Canada has not had a Red Tory leader since Joe Clark. Brian Mulroney was a crook who weakened the party to such an extent that Stephen Harper was able to beat it to death.
And if you're pinning your hopes on Jim Prentice and Christian Paradis, I'm afraid you will be waiting a very long time.
I've come to accept that the PCs are never going to make a comeback. The Harper government was an experiment that failed and failed badly. I've moved on. I suggest you move on too.
