With our entire culture based on becoming rich, everybody now feels their poverty is a temporary inconvenience on the way to great future wealth.
As a result they end up voting like they're rich, but living poor. These poor/rich people decry socialism and advocate for the interests of the wealthy. Interestingly, they do it all for free. If they were true capitalists they should have negotiated some sort of salary for spending so much time lobbying for rich people.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7180592942896724433.post-56050340628005234222010-09-07T06:27:42.344-04:002010-09-07T06:27:42.344-04:00Thanks NadineThanks NadineEmily Deehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08354341672810615468noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7180592942896724433.post-41462026862472233292010-09-06T20:38:24.834-04:002010-09-06T20:38:24.834-04:00Excellent, great blog.
Disaster Messaging
by Geor...Excellent, great blog.

Disaster Messaging
by George Lakoff

Democrats are constantly resorting to disaster messaging. Here’s a description the typical situation.

http://www.commondreams.org/view/2010/07/08

An important part of framing is the establishment of prototypes: social stereotypes, prototypes (typical case, ideals, nightmares, salient exemplars). Stereotypes are used in automatic reasoning and decision-making.

A major goal of political framing is to get your version of contested concepts accepted by the voters. Messaging can then use these concepts and their language freely and effectively. That is how framing works generally — independent of whether the frames are used in politics. In politics, bi-conceptual voters can shift back and forth on an issue, depending on how the issue is framed in terms of higher-level political systems.Nadine Lumleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05591663475427502169noreply@blogger.com
